The Mohawk Hudson Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club was formed in 1998, making it the youngest chapter in the club. It has over 700
members located in the 11 county region of eastern New York State comprising of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer,
Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties.
A number of hiking, biking, and kayaking trips are scheduled regularly, many in the Taconic, Berkshire, and Catskill Mountain regions, as well as in the Adirondacks, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. These include day and some weekend trips. Also, there are mid-week "Hikes at a Relaxed Pace". The Chapter is active in trail maintenance, addressing conservation issues, and encouraging outdoor activities. See the Calendar section for upcoming trips and events.
