The Battenkill is approximately 50 miles long and runs from Arlington, VT to Easton, NY where it joins the Hudson. It is a popular river and there are outfitters that rent/transport canoes. The section from the NY border to Route 22 can easily be done in a day and there are several put in points to make shorter trips. It's unclear how much of the river west of Route 22 can be paddled, Route 29 runs along it in places and there are pull offs where you could probably put in but there are also several dams in that section as well.
