Lisha Kill Natural Area

Lisha Kill Natural Area is owned by the Nature Conservancy and covers 140 acres. There are a series of interconnected loop trails that cover 2.1 miles. The preserve is closed between late February and early May to prevent trail erosion.

There is a small sign on the road but the dominate landmark for the trail head is the Niskayuna Grange. There is parking on the side of the gravel driveway between the Grange and what the Nature Conservancy indicates is an old firehouse, but most people seemed to park behind the grange.

The trails are well marked and defined. There are bridges and corduroy in most of the wet spots except for the start of the blue, Paul's trail loop where you have to step on rocks to get accross a narrow rivlet. There are some steep sections but they aren't too lengthy.
