River Road

In the mid 1800's a road was contructed from Schaghticoke to Lansingburgh along the Hudson river. A portion of this road is no longer in use and can be hiked. The area is full of clay and is subject to erosion and lanslides particularly the southern part and a through hike is not recommended. Parking is on the shoulder of River Road south of the intersection with Calhoun drive. The road is blocked to vehicular traffic 1/2 mile south where the road passes lock 1Distance
