The Mohawk Hudson Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club was formed 10 years ago, making it the youngest chapter in the club. It has over 700 members located in the 11 county region of eastern New York State comprising of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties.

A number of hiking trips are scheduled each month, mainly in the nearby Taconic and Berkshire mountain ranges, but also range into the Catskills, Vermont, and the Lake George and high peaks areas of the Adirondacks. In addition there are one or two more hikes each week, through our mid-week hikes and "hikes at a relaxed pace" to local nature areas and environmental centers. As always, members and prospective members are welcome to attend all chapter activities and meetings.
