Upcoming EventsThe Chapter has rented a covered pavilion for the whole day (8 A.M. – 9 P.M.), right near the bathing beach, bathrooms, and changing building. Bring your own food, frisbee, pictures, gear to sell and stories. We will provide charcoal for grilling, and plan to start eating around 4 P.M. Children welcome. Open to guests and members of other AMC chapters who wish to get to know this wonderful area in the Catskills. There is plenty of hiking around, and we can provide maps and ideas, or let us know if you wish one of our leaders to show you the way to such places as Badman’s Cave, Boulder Rock, Artist’s Rock, Sunset Rock, Mary’s Glen, Inspiration Point and others. Per car day use fee is still required. Ask for directions at the Entrance Station. For directions and to discuss your preferences, please register in advance with leader, Wally Herrod [email protected], or 518 758-9463 Meetings of the Chapter Executive Committee will be held Bi-Monthly During 2010, at the East Greenbush Library, 10 Community Way, starting at 6:45 PM All chapter members are welcome to attend these meetings, and to learn more about the business and workings of the chapter. Friday-Sunday, September 23-25 – Chapter Weekend, Cardigan Lodge, Southern White Mountains, NH AMC’s Cardigan Lodge has all levels of hiking trails right out the front door! We’ve reservedthree 5-person bunkrooms with shared bath, and one 2-person private bunk with shared bath. Price includes 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, and 2 trail lunches and taxes. Cost is $133 per person for the whole weekend. (If we meet AMC’s discount level, everyone will get a few dollars back.) Make checks payable to Leader: Stacey Michon, and forward to her by July 25th. The annual AMC Fall Gathering will be held October 14-16, 2011 at Nature's Classroom at Sargent Center in Hancock, NH. Save the date for this year's Fall Gathering hosted by the Boston Chapter.
